Reasons to move to Denver

I was in your shoes not too long ago. I wanted to find out everything this city has to offer. When I moved here, I wished I had someone to be my personal guide to show me know about all the good spots, running trails, and places to drink beer. That’s why I became a REALTOR and the guide to everything Denver. Anyways, let’s dive in on the reasons to move to Denver.

1.) Property Appreciation Rate:

Here’s a great reason people ask, “why move to Denver?” Denver’s average home sale price continues to grow, making it an attractive destination for real estate investors. The Denver housing market has seen significant growth, with properties often doubling in value within the past 10 years. in 2013 the average home sale price was $246k and this year it is $574k. Over double the return on your investment. Money people define Denver as a, “bubble”, it is not. More than 700k people moved out of California last year. Majority of those movers are transplanting to Colorado. With more and more people moving here, the demand for housing remains high. Although its no guarantee, all things are pointing at the continuing of home value growth. This is our favorite of reasons to live in Denver.

2.) Clean, Safe, and Family-Oriented Suburbs:

Another fantastic of the many reasons to move to Denver is the family aspect. If you have a family or are planning to start one, Denver’s suburbs are an ideal choice. The city offers some of the cleanest, safest, and most family-friendly neighborhoods in the country.

Coming from living in Philadelphia, I can say that it feels immaculately much safer here. We were always told to not walk around at night in Philly and to always watch our back. Here in Denver, I am proud to say I have never felt that.

You will feel confident knowing that your children can safely explore the community and attend excellent public schools.

There are also some very good private schools if you are interest in investigating that for your children.

Denver’s commitment to infrastructure development ensures that your tax dollars are spent well, resulting in well-maintained neighborhoods and a high quality of life. I often see children riding their bikes around Arvada, Broomfield, Lakewood, and Golden. Something I stopped seeing in New Jersey before I moved here. 3.) Convenient Transportation

“Why move to Denver?” Well, compared to Chicago and Philadelphia, Denver is easy to navigate within. Navigating in and out of the city is much more manageable and less stressful. You will often here me say, ” I am going to pull a jersey driver move here.” That’s because in Jersey we need to assert our will on the road to get anywhere. In Denver, it is not like that. People are very nice and forgiving here.

With shorter travel times and less congestion, you will actually be able to enjoy going into the city for dinner. My friends and family are often surprised by how they can travel from the suburbs to downtown Denver. Getting from Arvada to downtown Denver will take about 12 minutes. In Philadelphia, its an easy hour to go the same distance.

Additionally, the city conveniently placed the airport away from the heart of downtown. This ensures stress-free travel for both residents and visitors. Although, during Ski season, Sunday’s on i-70 can get congested.

Please keep in mind I moved from the Philly, NYC area. People may still think that the traffic in Denver is terrible. These cities are much more congested than Denver and way more stressful to drive within.

4.) Plenty of Recreation

Denver is a mecca for outdoor enthusiasts. With the surrounding Rocky Mountains, Denver has plenty of outdoor activities to offer. Hiking, skiing, biking, camping, trail running… The opportunities for outdoor adventures are boundless. I moved here because I am someone who gets very bored very easily. I don’t think I have ever been bored in my time here due to the amount of activities.

If you are a runner, I have a multitude of running trails to show you. It was hard to find some with little to no people on them, but I think my secret trails will stay low trafficked for a while.

Although I am not a huge fan, many people get into rock climbing and mountain biking here. That is an activity I never knew about until I got to the rocky mountains.

Camping around Denver is awesome. There a multitude of resources to utilize when finding/booking a campsite. If you are looking on a holiday weekend I would recommend doing so way in advanced.

The fishing is actually very nice around Denver. While going into the mountains with a fly rod will yield more fun. I have pull out some big fish from the surrounding reservoirs. Arvada, res., Standley Lake, Jim Baker res., are a few great places to toss some lines in.

The, not so hidden, Gem of Denver is Red Rocks Amphitheatre. you can enjoy some bangin’ beat with a sick backdrop. I would say you could find me at red Rocks 6-8 times a summer. From EDM, to rock, and comedy shows. Red Rocks will never disappoint.

Whether you prefer to relax by a serene lake, go off-roading, or unwind on a patio with a cold beer, Denver has something for everyone. Finally, it is quite nice to enjoy smoking some marijuana without having the anxiety of getting in trouble. Are you starting to see why Denver is the best place to live?

5.) impeccable Weather

Contrary to common misconceptions, Denver’s weather is amazing. The city experiences all four seasons, sometimes even in a single day, providing a diverse and dynamic environment.

Many people hear ,” I am moving to Denver and immediately think, “COLD.” They cannot be more wrong. While we will see at least 1 week with single digit temperatures, we will also experience random 65 degree days throughout February. Of course, if you travel into the mountains, it is going to be rather cold. 10,000 feet is much higher than 5200 feet.

Something we love to market about Denver is the sun! With approximately 300 days of sunshine annually, you will be sure to sidestep seasonal depression. Being closer to the sun you can roast your skin for a nice tan almost year round.

The dry air makes outdoor activities during the summer very enjoyable. Whereas in humid conditions you cannot even enjoy your back porch. I left Jersey/Philly area for these exact reasons. And I am not looking back.

While snowfall does occur, it often melts quickly, and winters are generally milder than anticipated. It is not uncommon to experience pleasant 70-degree days in the heart of winter. This way its easy to enjoy the snow come down and its gone before you become sick of it.
